Research
Prominent, internationally recognized areas of research at the School include: micro and nano-technologies, optical communication systems and devices, electromagnetic systems, tele-communication systems and information sciences, signal and image processing, computer systems and networking, control systems, power systems, and plasma science.
Cutting edge research is carried out in the School's two departments:
Research Centers and Central Facilities
- The micro-fabrication facility (Web)
- Communication (ACC)
A wide range of state-of-the-art laboratories at the School provide the scientific infrastructure for our researchers to carry out our research and teaching mission. In many instances, leading corporate donors fund both instrumentation and research programs. School members participate in a number of major national consortia established to advance research in such areas as digital communications, ultra-wideband communications, computer networks, sub-micron devices, and optical communications.
Strengthening the School's research potential are seven of endowed professorships and five research institutes.
