Description:
hanein001The lab was inaugurated in 2003. Our research is focused on developing novel micro and nanofabrication techniques and systems. Our main interest is in systems for biological applications. In collaboration with several other groups we are developing new tools for better investigation of biological issues such as neural network formations and activity, and cellular sensitivity to roughness. Our interests also include carbon nanotube mechanical and opto-electronic devices. The lab currently hosts a lab engineer, a post-doc, 10 graduate students and three undergrad students. Major equipment include: Neuron culturing lab, electrophysiological setups, plasma polymerization system, electrical and electrochemistry characterization apparatus, fluorescence microscopy and carbon nanotube growth facilities.
