The research activity of the chair is focused at application of advanced experimental methods to investigations in various fields of fluid mechanics, such as studies of nonlinear gravity and gravity-capillary water waves and wind-wave interactions, as well as of two-phase flows. An effort is made to support the experimental studies by application and development of appropriate theoretical models. Particular emphasis is made on application of non-intrusive experimental techniques, mostly based on extensive use of optical methods. The research activity of the chair has numerous practical applications, in particular related to development of clean energy sources. |
