The Yitzhak and Chaya Weinstein Research Institute for Signal Processing was founded at Tel-Aviv University in 2001 by Prof. Ehud Weinstein in memory of his late parents.

The institute supports research activities in the field of Signal Processing. It awards three types of prizes:

•  Studies prizes to graduate students.
•  Prizes for scientific publication.
•  Prizes for best senior year undergraduate projects in digital signal processing.

In addition, the institute supports signal processing related workshops and infrastructure.

Prof. Nadav Levanon was the institute director during 2001-2010.

Presently (2011) the academic committee of the institute includes:

• Prof. David Burshtein (Institute director and chairman of the department of electrical engineering - systems)
• Prof. Ehud Weinstein (Institute founder)
• Prof. Meir Feder (chairman of the school of electrical engineering)
