Experimental Facilities

Continuous inclined air-water pipe flow facility

The experimental facility consists of two 10 m long parallel pipes with internal diameters of 24 mm and 56 mm.The pipes are can be fixed at any angle of inclination, from horizontal position to vertical. Water and air are used as working fluids.

Controlled air injection vertical pipe flow facility

Experimental facility consists of air and water supply systems and a test section. The inlet section of each pipe, shown in the insert of Fig. 1, consists of a large settling chamber, a honeycomb, a number of screens, and a converging nozzle. Individual air bubbles are injected via computer-controlled solenoid-activated ball valve from a common manifold through separate pipes with internal diameters identical to those of each test section.

Evaporation and Two-phase flow in parallel pipes facility

The facility consists of two heated parallel pipes with a common inlet manifold. Both pipes are open to the atmosphere at the exit. Steam separators are located at each pipe exit. The whole pipes battery can rotate upwards up to 30°.More...

Adiabatic air-water two-phase flow in parallel pipes facility

The adiabatic two-phase flow facility consists of four parallel pipes with common inlet and outlet manifolds and a flow mixer at the inlet, all supported by a frame. The frame can be tilted upwards within the range of angles from 0 to 30?. More...

Air granular flow facility

An experimental device was designed and built to investigate gas-solid flow in pipes. The system consists of five distinct parts: Air supply system, Feeding section, Conveying Section, Test section and measurement devicesand Gas-Solid separation section
