Miryam Barad joined the Department of Industrial Engineering at Tel Aviv University in 1978. She chaired the department curriculum committee for nine years and later was appointed Head of Department, a position which she held for six years.
Three dynamic research 'streams' by applications area can be identified in her research and publications:
The current research and professional interests of Miryam Barad focus on various aspects of Quality and Flexibility with emphasis on performance measurement and flexibility modeling and implementation.
Prof. Barad is on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Production Research, a Council member of the International Foundation of Production Research and a member of the New York Academy of Sciences. She held many academic visiting positions at Universities around the world some of which initiated collaboration on quality and flexibility research projects with scientists from different countries (China, Australia and UK).
