Grid Computing: Hype or Killer System?

Abstract:

A rapid survey of Grid computing vs. classic HPC will be given, using 
some of its Gurus' reports (Gordon Bell, Ian Foster).  It includes Peer
to Peer and other asynchronous computations systems such as SETI@home.
Presentation will also focus on implication in Mechanical Numerical 
Simulations.

Obvious economics pro are limited by management questions, available 
software tools as well as problem structures . Roadmap for its 
acceptance is outlined, including the present US and European efforts, 
and the coming WEB Services paradigm.
