Myths versus Reality in High Performance Computing

In this talk I will review what are the limiting factors of parallel
applications performance and their relevant measurements.  I will
present a few examples, such as parallelization of the radiative heat
transfer equation solver and direct numerical simulation of
Navier-Stokes equations.
