Abstract On Friday morning of the Symposium the IMPI Panel Discussion, titled, 'Development of Industrial Applications,' as moderated by John Olander. The panel consisted of fire IMPI members: Carl Olsen, Geoffrey Voss, Barney Hilton, Clyde Lofdahl, and Sam Goldblith. The panel members had been selected to represent University and Institute applications development, industry applications development and equipment supplier application development. Each panel member was given an opportunity to make initial comments establishing his particular point of view. Presented here is an editorialized summary of the points made by the moderator, each of the panel members and most of the members participating from the floor. It is important to recognize that this is an editorialized summary and is based upon the writer's ability to make brief notes during the Panel.
