Abstract Two simple graphical techniques have been developed to evaluate the attenuation coefficient of low- and medium-loss liquids at microwave frequencies. One of the methods is useful for medium-loss liquids, while the other is suitable for very-low-loss liquids. Both methods utilize data obtained from a microwave reflectometer. Data including dielectric and loss factors are presented for various medium- and low-loss organic liquids.
