Abstract Two types of double-coil-two-antenna microwave motors and a two-double-coil four antenna microwave motor were constructed as part of an effort to develop an efficient self-starting microwave motor. Self-starting in these motors was accomplished by the use of an increased number of rotor coil-antenna pairs, non-symmetric dc magnetic and microwave electromagnetic fields and an increased operating power level.
