Abstract A technique is presented for automatically tuning a class of resonant microwave heating systems. T h e matching device used is a conventional slide-screw wave-guide tuner with automated phase or carriage motion adjustment. A three or four probe sensor is used to provide control information and display the system match achieved by the tuner.
