Abstract The rationale and work conducted in exploring the
application of high frequency drying is described. The application of HF
energy must be done in a specific region of the conventional drying machine
in order to take full advantage of the properties of HF energy and to correct
the intrinsic deficiencies of hot surface drying and web formation. The paper
dwells on certain aspects of papermaking economics and technology which
stress the selectivity of the application and the benefits derived thereof.
Experimental and pilot paper machine data is reported, as well as
computerized simulation based on commercial paper machine data. |
