Abstract The growth of ownership of microwave ovens has spurred the development of food packaging which is compatible with both conventional and microwave oven applications. Paperboard containers made of solid bleached sulphate coated with a polyester resin have been introduced to fill this need. Over 150 major food companies are presently evaluating suitability of dual-oven containers for their products.
