Abstract A simple and straightforward
principle of modified first order principle of geometrical optics was applied
for the analysis and the design of the microwave power distribution in a
cavity of a microwave oven. A domestic microwave oven which had nonuniform energy distribution with 10.7% mean deviation
was improved to 6.1% deviation by this simple approach. This improved
domestic oven was proven to be useful as a scientific microwave oven which
requires more uniform microwave field distribution inside the cavity than
domestic microwave ovens. This was accomplished by minor modification of
stirrer and its mounting location. |
