Abstract Continuing basic studies
on the design of magnetrons for microwave oven applications have led to
improvements in this highly developed product. Work on
refinement of the uniformity of conditions in the interaction space have
led to noise reductions in the output spectrum. These improvements have
contributed to a more compact design with interchangeable electrical
performance. A new design for the falter capacitor is expected to show
