Abstract

Proposals for standardization of terms and notations are presented.  Electroheat terminology in the multilingual International Electrotechnical Vocabulary (IEV), published buy the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is used as a basis.  However, some deviations and extensions are also discussed and proposed, for adaptation to the usage in modern literature in the subject area.  A list of selected terms and notation is given.  Some main proposals are the use  being the relative permittivity and  the loss factor; and to define the penetration depth  by the perpendicular plane wave case 1/e power density.
