Abstract A software package, which models high frequency dielectric heating processes, is presented. Programming aspects of the simulation of continuous heating processes, the mirroring effects due to boundary conditions and the influence of thermal diffusivity are discussed. Applications dealing with vulcanizing and drying are described. A condition is formulated by which mathematical instabilities in the finite elements calculations are avoided through a judicious choice of element size and time step.
