Abstract Exposures to electric or
magnetic fields (including microwaves), in residential or occupational settings,
have been reported to be associated with health problems, particularly cancer
and reproductive mishaps. Misconceptions about these alleged effects continue
to be published in the medical and scientific literature, as well as in
popular press reports. This paper is the third in a series of papers
challenging invalid statements relating to these alleged effects. Reports
dealing with epidemiologic studies (including exposure assessment,
consistency, and public policy implications), the use of biomarkers, and risk
assessment are analyzed. Key Words: Electromagnetic fields,
Epidemiology, Cancer, Reproduction. |
