Abstract A novel family of six-port reflectometers, designed in hybrid microstrip-waveguide technology, is presented for high-power applications. In principle, there is no limitation in the input power level and the design can be adapted for any waveguide frequency band. A prototype was designed for the operational frequency of 2.45 GHz and measurements were made at power levels up to 200W. Thermo-dielectric characterization was carried out on several well known liquids.
