Abstract

The experimental setup proposed is a simple 2.45GHz microwave induced acoustic system for rapid detection of contaminants within a liquid. The use of moderate power microwave radiation for longer excitation is illustrated as an alternative to high power short duration systems that have been previously described. Results for water/alcohol mixtures are presented, illustrating a measurement resolution of better than 10% with minimal signal processing and display requirements.
