Abstract To prevent damage caused by
the penetration of water into the insulation of electric cables used in
underground electrical installations and especially in telecommunications it
is necessary to impregnate the cables' wires with a hydrophobic material when
they are manufactured. The following paper describes microwave heating of the
insulated wires of telecommunication cables before their impregnation. Key Words: Microwave heating, Cable,
Telephone, Insulation |
