Abstract This paper describes a reference design to provide a high speed ground transportation system by means of microwave energy. The proposed system is suitable in situations that require both a rapid means of transport and a high passenger capacity over relatively long distances. This situation arises whenever large urban centers expand into each other to form a continuous inhabited region requiring strict pollution control measures.
