Abstract Young beagles exposed to 2450 MHz microwave radiation were studied to determine the effects of several exposures on their performance and on subsequent electroencephalographic records. The microwave fields for the three experimental groups had maximum power densities of 176 mW/cm², 88 mW/ cm², and 0 mW/ cm². The exposure times ranged from fifteen minutes to one hour depending upon the experimental conditions. No differences could be detected in performance between the exposed and unexposed dogs using a modified approach behavior situation. As a result of an additional exposure to the head, the autocorrelograms, crosscorrelograms, and amplitude probability densities of the electroencephalograms were altered. Visual and auditory evoked responses were not materially affected. |
