Abstract The commercial microwave oven market has been slow to grow in the United Kingdom, with annual sales ranging about 5,000. There has been some success in the catering field with several ovens designed primarily for this purpose. It is the consensus of opinion that domestic ovens be no less than 800 watt power output. Design suggestions are described for the ideal domestic oven for sale in the U.K.
