Abstract

Microwave energy at a frequency of 2,450 Mhz was used to dry cottonseed. The investigation included cottonseed moisture levels, power input levels, and lengths of exposure to the microwave energy. Equations were developed to predict the rate of drying with respect to exposure time. The effects of microwave energy in seed-mass temperature and seed germination were also investigated.
