Short Professional Biography
Prof. Emanuel Marom received the B.Sc. (with distinction) and M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel in 1957 and 1961 respectively, and the Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1965.
In 1972 he joined the Faculty of Engineering, Tel-Aviv University where he was first an Associate Professor and from 1979 Full Professor. He served as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering during the 1980-1983 academic years and during the years 1992-1997 was Vice-President and Dean for Research and Development of Tel Aviv University. His industrial experience includes affiliation with Bendix Research Laboratories, Southfield, Michigan (1966-1970), Eljim Ltd., Israel (1970-1972), Hughes Research Laboratories, Malibu, CA (1976-1978 and again 1983-1985) and Symbol Technologies, Long Island, NY (1990-1992), while on leaves from Tel-Aviv University. During several summers he was involved in research also at Brown Boveri Research Center (Baden, Switzerland), TRW Technology Research Center, (El Segundo, CA, USA) and PCO, (Northridge, CA, USA) and also acted as consultant to several Israeli companies.
