Surface Science - Experimental and theoretical studies of phenomena
occurring at solid surfaces, such as adsorption, desorption, interaction
with radiation and particle beams.

Semiconductors - Electrical, electronic, and optical properties
of nano-structures. Nano-electronic Devices. Wide bandgap semiconductors

Interfaces - Studies of phenomena at the interfaces between semiconductors
and insulators, other semiconductors, polymers, bio-materials, or metals, using electronic and spectroscopic
analytical tools.

Solar cells - Investigation of solar cell efficiency and its improvement
by surface treatments.

Surface analytical tools - X-Ray, Soft-X-ray and UV photoemission
spectroscopy, Auger electron spectroscopy, surface photovoltage spectroscopy,
scanning electron microscopy, photoluminescence, scanning probe microscopy.

Vacuum technology - high and ultra high vacuum system design and
technology.
