town located between Jordan, Egypt and Saudi
Arabia, just 45 minutes by plane from Tel-Aviv.
The city is home to charm and beauty with its turquoise waters and
sweeping desert plains. It is one of the world's most
intriguing diving locations - a paradise for sea-sports fans wishing to
enjoy diving, boat trips, water skiing, parasailing and swimming.
Eilat offers many more attractions
such as the underwater observatory, the dolphin reef, jeep tours into
the depths of the desert and the unique natural reserve of Timna Park - where the famous King
Solomon's ancient copper mines, King Solomon's Pillars and the Mushroom
Rock are located. For those seeking additional unique experiences - a
day tour to the enchanting red-rock city of Petra, Jordan,
will also be offered.
Eilat is a free trade zone and offers
tax-free shopping in a fine selection of shops and boutiques. For
those able to continue into the midnight hours, it offers nightclubs,
pubs and restaurants.
Travel
Arrangements & Visas
Participants are responsible for making their own travel
arrangements. It is recommended that you verify your visa requirements
with your local embassy or consulate. Kindly note that we are unable to
dispatch visa invitation letters to support your visa application prior
to receipt of your registration form and full payment of registration
fees.
Weather and
Clothing
November is late autumn in Israel. Temperatures in Eilat range between 16–28°C/ 61-83 oF. Dress will be informal
throughout the Conference. Modest dress is required for those planning
to visit religious sites.
Currency
The unit of currency in Israel is the New Israeli Shekel
(NIS) commonly known as the Shekel. Approximate currency rates as of
March 2010 are: US $ 1 = 3.5 NIS; Euro € 1 = 4.7 NIS.
There are no restrictions on transfer and use of foreign currencies
in Israel.
Most international credit cards are accepted.
Electricity
Electricity in Israel is supplied at 220V, 50Hz and has a
three-pin connecting plug.
