Abstract The role of the Division of
Electronic Products, Bureau of Radiological Health, in carrying out the
provisions of the Federal Performance Standard for Microwave Ovens is
discussed. This role involves the review of manufacturer’s testing programs,
testing of ovens in the divisions laboratories, examinations of prototypes
submitted to the Federal Communications Commission for type approval, and
field testing of ovens in typical use situations. The highlights of visits in
1970 will be summarised. The importance of well trained, properly equipped,
repair personnel is stressed. |
