Nir Turko, MSc BME


PhD Student

Nir Turko is a PhD student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Tel Aviv University. He completed his BSc in Electrical Engineering in Tel Aviv University (2010) and spent a few years in the industry. He completed his MSc thesis on optical interferometry with plasmonic nanoparticles for biomedical imaging in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Tel Aviv University (2015). He started his PhD in quantitative phase microscopy of dynamic samples, focusing on developing optical methods and algorithms to increase throughput of phase imaging with molecular specificity. Nir is an active member of the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE), serving as the secretary and vice presidnet of the SPIE student chapter in Tel-Aviv University. He is the co-author of 7 refereed papers and 7 conference publications.
