Dr. Pinkie Jacob, PhD Materials and Nano Eng. (Alumni, 2016-2018)

.
Postdoctoral Associate
.
Dr. Pinkie Jacob was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Tel Aviv University, starting March 2016. She completed her BSc in Physics from University of Calicut, India, and MSc in Nanomolecular Science from Jacobs University, Germany. During her MSc, she investigated the vibrational properties of Chlorogenic acid present in coffee beans using Raman Spectroscopy. In 2015, she received her PhD from the Department of Engineering from Universitat Rovira I Virgili, Spain. During her PhD, she dealt with micro/nano-structuring of SU-8 using various lithographic techniques and tested the produced structures as a platform for optical biosensing. Presently, she is investigating the use of optical microfiber evanescent biosensor for protein detection using plasmonic nanoparticles.

Next position after the OMNI Group: Postdoctoral Associate in Prof. Israel Gannot’s group, Tel Aviv University.
